Thunderbrew Lights Up Eagles as Playoff Push Sweeps Central Chiefs by 4-3!
The St. John Eagles came closer to the . 500 mark as they approach District 8-1A season in high school baseball action.
The Eagles (8-9) chalked a win in action over Central Private while falling short against potential state contender Vanderbilt Catholic in pre-district baseball action last week. The wins come after St. John fell short in its first six outings of the season.
Hereโs a look at recent Eagle action. SJHS 8, Central Private 1 โ Winning pitcher Tyler Edwards struck out nine and allowed two hits across six innings against CPHS, while relief man Landon Daigle sent back two Redhawks in home victory for St. John.
Six runs in the second set the pace for the Eagle victory. Cy Crowson led the pack with double and two singles. Edwards Chrisian Dean, Daniel Braud, Jacob Ourso and Nathan Burleigh also had hits for the Eagles.
Dillen Marbury stole two bases, while Braud, Ourso, Jesse Taylor and Jacob Brerthelot each had one steal. Vandebilt Catholic 7, SJHS 2 โ Five runs across the last three innings led VCHS to victory over the hosting Eagles. The Terriers (16-4) took a 2-0 run lead in the top of the first, but an Edwards leadoff triple in the bottom of the third set the pace for the Eagles to tie the game.
