The No. 5 Auburn Tigers handled business over the weekend by sweeping Missouri to open SEC play with a 3-0 record in league play. Auburn's first win of the weekend came in controversial fashion as the lights at Taylor Park mysteriously went dark shortly after Bub Terrell hit a go-ahead home run in the 8th inning, causing a delay lasting over an hour.

However, Auburn reliever Garrett Brewer handled adversity well by striking out the side in the 8th inning and limiting Missouri to two hits and zero runs in Auburn's 2-0 win . The remainder of Auburn's series at Missouri was played Saturday as a threat of storms on Sunday forced a doubleheader. Auburn needed extra magic to seal a win in game one as Chase Fralick singled home Cade Belyeu in the 10th inning, and Ryan Hetzler retired the side in order in the bottom frame to nail down a 4-3 win.
