Buccaneers Shatter NFL Rankings: Super Bowl Stars Elevate Team to Top 10!
We gave the Bucs a unique chance to get a top player thanks to a big trade in our mock draft.
There have been countless mock drafts over the past couple of months. We have seen the same picks and the same analysts making predictions, which can get a bit stale. So, because of that, we wanted to throw a bit of a curveball into the mix of mock drafts for the Bucs.
To achieve that, we made several trades in this Mock Draft Monday edition. We have the Bucs trading up early on to draft an impact player, something this roster needs in the deepest way imaginable. General manager Jason Licht needs to make a splash, and he needs to do it soon, as the window to win a Super Bowl with this roster is closing.
So with the move we make, this team could see their Super Bowl chances increase, so let's get to it. Trade: Bucs send the 15th, 77th, and 194th overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for the 9th, 167th, and 176th picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. Round 1, Pick 9: David Bailey, Edge, Texas Tech The Bucs are not going to trade for Maxx Crosby or even someone like Jonathan Greenard to improve their pass-rush chances.
David Bailey could easily go as high as the second pick in the draft, but if he falls to anywhere, the Bucs could then target a trade up; they have to do it. Bailey explodes off the edge, sets the tone on defense, and overall just creates chaos in the way the Bucs need. Round 2, Pick 46: Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech We go with another Texas Tech defender here, as the Bucs are finding a new leader in the middle of their defense.
