The final rounds of the Big Ten Tournament delivered some classic Big Ten games and some of the best basketball of the season. UCLA and Wisconsin proved themselves as worthy contenders heading into the NCAA Tournament. Purdue and Michigan capped off the tournament off with a thrilling Big Ten battle, in which Purdue came out on top.
Here are the scores and the rest of my analysis from the Big Ten Tournament action this weekend. Here are the scores from Friday: No. 3 Michigan 71, Ohio State 67 Bruce Thornton led the way as the Buckeyes gave Michigan a tough scare.
Thornton had a game-high 22 points in this matchup. Michigan, on the other hand, had four players score in double figures. Center Aday Mara was the biggest player that stepped up for Michigan, as he had 17 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.
He and the Wolverines shut down Ohio State's offense in clutch time. For the entire season, Michigan has been a well-oiled machine on both ends of the court, with seemingly a different player stepping up in each game. The Big Ten Tournament has been no different for them.
