will have plenty to say about that. The reality is that Tagovailoa may not be a shoo-in to be the QB1 in Atlanta. In a new article on Monday, ESPN's Dan Graziano shares that Tagovailoa's path won't be a simple one.
"The Atlanta story is different; my sense is the Falcons view Penix as the starter once he's healthy and Tagovailoa is just there for coverage in case he isn't ready," Graziano writes. Penix is coming off a season-ending knee injury, and he's got a history of such injuries, so there's at least some risk there. New head coach Kevin Stefanski and front office leader Matt Ryan decided that Tagovailoa was the right guy to bring in to join Penix while also releasing Kirk Cousins.
