That was confirmed as the Reds triggered a clause in his contract that extends it by one year. The Brazilian's deal was going to end in June but now it'll stretch through June 2027. It's the right move as letting the team's first-choice goalkeeper needlessly leave for nothing would have been insane.
But that's the thing here - the extension means Alisson won't leave for free. It doesn't mean he won't leave. Liverpool could merely be making sure they get a fee for Alisson, much in the same way they offered Curtis Jones a new contract ahead of a potential move to Inter back in January.
