Broncos Secure Shock Victory Over Top-Notch Opponent
The Broncos made a minor tweak to Ben Powers' contract.
The Denver Broncos have made a minor adjustment to Ben Powers' contract. Powers was due a $500,000 bonus for being on the roster on the fifth day of the NFL's new league year (March 15). Instead of making it a bonus, the Broncos converted it to be part of the guard's salary, according to the Denver Gazette 's Chris Tomasson .
Powers now has a salary of $12. 49 million in 2026 (and a salary cap hit of $18. 155 million ).
Powers is scheduled to become a free agent in 2027, but his contract includes three void years, so the guard will leave behind a $4. 35 million salary cap hit next season, even if he's no longer on the team. Following speculation of a potential trade, the Broncos informed Powers ahead of NFL free agency that they do not plan to trade him or make him to take a pay cut.
The 29-year-old lineman is now poised to remain the team's starting left guard in 2026. Social : Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X ! Did you know : These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans .
