Rashid Rashidi Lights Up The Giants Stadium With An Exciting Show!
The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly tried to sign WR Darnell Mooney before he decided to join the New York Giants.
The New York Giants bolstered their receiving corps by signing veteran wide receiver Darnell Mooney to a one-year contract worth up to $10 million over the weekend. The move comes after the Giants lost WanโDale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans in free agency, leaving a need for experienced depth alongside Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton. Mooney, 28, was released by the Atlanta Falcons on March 9 following a disappointing 2025 season in which he recorded 32 receptions for 443 yards and one touchdown.
He had previously enjoyed a strong 2024 campaign with Atlanta, posting 64 catches for 992 yards and five scores after signing a three-year, $39 million contract. Earlier in his career, Mooney achieved a 1,000-yard season in 2021 under current Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy with the Chicago Bears, where he was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. With the Bears from 2020 to 2023, he amassed career highs of 81 receptions for 1,055 yards and four touchdowns in his Pro Bowl year.
The Philadelphia Eagles had shown interest in Mooney during free agency, but he opted for the Giants instead, adding an intriguing layer to the NFC East rivalry. Giants OC Matt Nagy was a factor. Mooney maintained a good relationship with Nagy from their Chicago days.
