Shining Stars Olmsted & Clymer Lead New York Boys' Dream Team to Victory!

BUFFALO, N. Y. (WIVB) — The Olmsted Owls and Clymer Pirates have advanced to the NYSPHSAA semifinals in boys basketball for the first time in each program’s history.

Olmsted defeated Windsor 48-24 in the Class B Far West Regional playoff game at Buffalo State Sports Arena this past weekend after Clymer won 63-49 against Andover-Whitesville in Class D to extend retiring coach Irv King’s final season with a trip to Binghamton for the state tournament. Tacari McCray scored 20 points for Olmsted and Jaden Wood followed up his career night in the sub-regional playoff victory with 11 points for the Buffalo Public School coached by former Canisius College center Andrew Bush. Carson White had 25 points in leading Clymer to victory.

Elijah Mitchell, Kameron Einink and Roman Wassink also reached double figures. Olmsted will play Section III champion Marcellus at 2:30 p. m.

Thursday in its state semifinal at Memorial Arena in Binghamton, and Clymer will go against Sacketts Harbor from Section III at 10 a. m. Saturday.

The Class B championship game is at 6 p. m. Friday, and the Class D final is at 10 a.
