They’ll head to St.

Louis as the No. 7 seed to face off against No. 10 seed Santa Clara in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

For the first time in school history, the Wildcats are a No. 7 seed in March Madness. Of the top-12 seeds, the only two the Wildcats have not had are now the 9- and 10-seeds, per UK statistician Corey Price , marking a rare pathway for the Cats.

The Wildcats are also undefeated 4-0 against 10-seeds in the Tournament, with their latest win coming in 2017 in the Round of 32, when they took down Wichita State by three points. The team will have a bit of good history on their side when they face the Broncos on Friday. The Wildcats went to the Sweet 16 in Mark Pope’s first season at the helm, and they’ll be looking to match that as the Midwest Region is stacked with good teams.
