The World Baseball Classic has not been without controversy, but Sunday night's botched strikeout call is absolutely the biggest moment of the tournament. Coming into the bottom of the ninth inning, the United States held a 2-1 lead over the Dominican Republic with pitcher Mason Miller set to face the final batters of the night. The Dominican Republic was down to the final out but had the tying run at third base, so the pressure was on.
Batter Geraldo Perdomo was facing a full count after fouling off a handful of balls when on the deciding pitch, he was called out looking on a ball that was ... very much not in the strike zone.
