On Sunday, the Red Wings announced that they've signed Eddie Genborg to an amateur tryout contract for the rest of the season that will convert to a three-year entry-level contract beginning with next season. Genborg will report to AHL Grand Rapids. The Red Wings chose Genborg with the No.
44 overall pick (second round) in the 2025 NHL Draft. An 18-year old Swedish forward, Genborg is playing with Timra IK in the SHL. This season, he has nine goals and 16 assists (25 points) in 43 games.
