Wisconsin Women's Basketball Takes Down WBIT 76-59 in Exciting Matchup
The Badgers women’s basketball team received its first WBIT bid and will face West Coast Conference opponent Oregon State on the road.
MADISON – Robin Pingeton’s team got a fresh start Sunday, March 15. The Wisconsin women’s basketball team earned one of 32 spots in the field for the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament , the NCAA's second-tier postseason tournament. This is the WBIT's third season.
Previously the WNIT was the second tournament option for women's college basketball. The Badgers (13-17) earned a No. 3 seed and will face Oregon State (23-11) on the road Thursday, March 19.
Oregon State tied for third in the West Coast Conference, two games behind first-place Loyola Marymount. This will be the Badgers' second postseason appearance in three seasons. Two years ago, they qualified for the WNIT and reached the quarterfinals.
