Jack Gibbins Sets Up His Big-League Dream in Los Angeles

Gibbins' visit is expected to help fill the shoes of Davis-Gaither's leadership on defense, while his ability in special teams could provide some added depth for Arizona.

The Arizona Cardinals are set for a big day with Jack Gibbins, former linebacker from the New England Patriots who recently joined their free agency list. As ESPN's Mike Reiss reported, the team will have Gibbins visit them this week as part of their search for a new player to replace Akeem Davis-Gaither. In 2025 during his only season in New England, Jack played in 17 games and started eight, totaling 81 tackles, an impressive 81st tackle that ranked in the top ten among linebackers.

He also had a sack (3), three quarterback hits, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Gibbins’ presence could fill the role of Davis-Gaither’s former teammate Mack Wilson. The linebacker was even leading the team with 20 special teams tackles this season—quite an accomplishment given his limited roster time in Arizona.

Now, Jack Gibbins will surely cost less than what would be required to sign another restricted free agent and add a bit more excitement to Cardinals’ locker room.
