Following surgery, star shortstop Francisco Lindor returned to Spring Training action Sunday, leading off against the Blue Jays. Before being replaced by Ronny Mauricio, Lindor went 1-for-3 with a single, a run scored and a strikeout. His newest infield partner, Marcus Semien went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs.

After the game, Lindor spoke about his debut, acknowledging it was a good start. “It was a really good experience,” Lindor said . “I felt like I was pretty much like myself and I finished the game healthy.

Overall, it was a good day for me. ” According to Anthony DiComo of MLB. com, the Mets plan to be cautious with Lindor even after returning, planning to play him every other day to finish the preseason.
