Cameron Young's victory charge at the Players Championship will be remembered for two remarkable swings on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass

PONTE VEDRA BEACH โ€” It's a dream scenario to stare down the nightmare, except Cameron Young didn't know yet which one was which. A lot had to happen to make it here, to emerge as the winner of the 2026 Players Championship, besting Matt Fitzpatrick by one stroke after being four off the lead of Ludvig Aberg to start the final round. Young had to survive the early holes, seize the chances he was given, absorb the bad breaks without letting them metastasize.

He did all of it, quietly, without theater, the way this course demands. TPC Sawgrass doesn't announce what it's doing to you. It asks you to hold on for survival while simultaneously daring you to attack.

Somewhere in that contradiction it finds out who you are. Strategy gets you to Sunday. What happens then is a matter of the mind and soul.
