After earning a spot in the First Four in 2025, coach Tina Langley's team took a massive step forward this season, going 21-10 on the season and 10-8 in Big Ten play, which included a win over the USC Trojans in the conference tournament before they fell to the UCLA Bruins, who earned a No.
1 seed on Sunday. Now, they'll have to contend with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, who went 27-6 during the 2025-26 season. Coach Aaron Johnston's team won the Summit League Tournament to secure an automatic bid after an impressive regular season, where the Jackrabbits were led by all-conference First Team honoree Brooklyn Meyer.
