It's an interesting matchup because Kentucky head coach, and Waynesboro native, Kenny Brooks got his head coaching start at James Madison. In between, Brooks was at Virginia Tech, which is the No. 9 seed in this bracket.
The Dukes reached the tournament with a Sun Belt Conference championship, beating Troy 69-52. JMU (26-8) reached at least 26 wins for the 17th time in program history. Redshirt senior guard Peyton McDaniel leads the scoring for the Dukes with 18.
