ESPN's Seth Greenberg picked Michigan and Michigan State basketball to play in the 2026 NCAA Tournament national championship game.

Seth Greenberg's Final Four picks for the 2026 March Madness bracket are the most interesting we've seen. Greenberg, the former college basketball head coach turned ESPN analyst, predicted a Michigan State vs. Michigan basketball national championship game to finish the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

MSU is a 3-seed in the East Region, while U-M is a 1-seed in the Midwest Region. Greenberg's winner: Michigan over MSU. "I'm really interested to see the postgame handshake," Greenberg said to bursts of laughter from his colleagues Jay Bilas, Jay Williams and Rece Davis.

THE RIVALS: Izzo’s pettiness makes MSU’s rivalry with U-M even better Probably pic. twitter. com/B4YFNFOXjW — MVictors (@MVictors) March 16, 2026 Michigan and MSU have never met in an NCAA tournament game.

The rivals were one game away from facing off in Atlanta in the 2025 Elite Eight, but Michigan lost to Auburn in the Sweet 16. MSU then lost to Auburn in the Elite Eight. Bilas also had MSU making the Final Four and advancing to the national championship game by defeating 1-seed Duke in the Elite Eight and 1-seed Florida in the Final Four.
