When the Men's NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed Sunday, Miami of Ohio breathed a sigh of relief. The RedHawks will take on Southern Methodist University in a First Four game as an 11 seed. It's the first tournament appearance for Miami since 2007.
The Redhawks have a 31-1 record, losing their first game of the season in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament against Massachusetts . "Miami of Ohio was not the last team selected into the field," said Keith Gill, the Chair of the NCAA Men's Basketball Committee. "They came in before NC State, Texas and SMU.
" SMU fell short against Louisville in the second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The Midwest Region game will be played on Wednesday, March 18. The game time has not been determined.
