The second night of the Kennedale Cowtown Classic was cancelled following the incident that resulted in the death of one official and injury to another prior to the Feature Saturday night. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

One of the competitors of the Lace Chance Showdown flipped their sprint car while entering the racing surface before the start.

As reported by the Kennedale News on their Facebook page, and further shared by FloRacing , two safety side-by-side (SXS) vehicles collided in the infield while going to attend to the flipped sprint car and set up pushes for the start of the LCS. Out of respect for the families of the injured and deceased, KSP asked attendees not to share photos and videos from the track. The event was taking place about 30 minutes away from IndyCar's Arlington Grand Prix and is the only stop for the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars in Texas this year.

It's been reported by the World of Outlaws parent group, The World Racing Group, that the collision resulted in serious injury to one official and a fatal injury to another. "While officials were responding to an incident at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night, two emergency vehicles collided, resulting in a serious injury to one official and a fatal injury to another," The statement read. "There is an ongoing investigation of the incident.

The remainder of the event was postponed. Everybody in the racing community, and those affected, appreciates your thoughts and prayers. " The incident remains under investigation, and the remainder of the eveningโ€™s program was postponed before the scheduled 35-lap feature.
