Cameron Young Wins PGA Championship in Dominant Fashion!
Cameron Young won The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, capturing the prize in the flagship tournament for PGA Tour golf.
PONTE VEDRA BEACH | Cameron Young finally has his signature victory. The American golfer fought off wicked winds and a pack of contenders from around the planet to capture The Players Championship, shooting a 4-under 68 in the final round and finishing 13 under for the tournament on March 15. Cheered on down the stretch by chants of "U-S-A!
", Young rallied on the back nine to edge 2022 U. S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick by one stroke.
Young made birdies on the par-4 10th, the par-3 13th and the par-3 Island Green, the latter lifting him into a tie with Fitzpatrick. Young then sank a tap-in par on 18, after Fitzpatrick had missed wide right off the tee and narrowly failed with a par putt. Young had previously competed at the Players four times but never placed higher than 50th.
He entered the week at No. 15 in the Official World Golf Ranking. His only prior victory on Tour was the 2025 Wyndham Championship.
