FSU’s Stellar Pitching Keeps Seminoles on Top in 3-0 Sweep!
The FSU Seminoles have swept the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, winning in dominant fashion on Sunday.
The No. 15 Florida State Seminoles have swept the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, beating them 12-6 on Sunday at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
They are now 16-3 overall and 3-0 in ACC play. They have dominated the entire series, outscoring Wake Forest 24-6 to sweep their first conference series of the season. They opened the scoring in the first inning as Eli Putnam hit a solo home run, his second homer in as many days.
Kelvyn Paulino Jr. made it a 2-0 game later in the inning, singling home Myles Bailey with two outs. Wake Forest responded with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning to retake some momentum.
The Seminoles added on in the second inning with Brayden Dowd hitting a two-run homer, scoring John Stuetzer. Bailey joined the party in the third, hitting a leadoff homer to give FSU a 5-1 lead. It was his eighth of the season and second of the series.
