The Boston Fleet trailed 3-0 heading into the third against the Montreal Victoire. A regulation Montreal win would have given the Victoire sole possession of first overall in the PWHL. Instead, Boston erased the deficit and won in overtime 4-3.
Boston opened their comeback at 6:01 of the third period as Hadley Hartmetz drove a puck to the net, which popped out to a waiting Loren Gabel. Gabel scored her first of the season after signing with the Fleet in the days leading up to the 2026 Olympics. Just over a minute and a half later, Boston had a glorious opportunity to continue their comeback with aย five minute powerplay off an illegal hit by Montreal's Maggie Flaherty who checked Jill Saulnier knocking her out of the game.
Montreal however, killed the penalty and looked like they'd come through Boston's push and were on their way to the win. Scary moment here for Jill Saulnier. Maggie Flaherty catches Saulnier who isn't looking.
