Adam Schefter addressed the questions surrounding Cleveland’s quarterback situation. Despite the rumors and questions about the team’s plans, Schefter said that some around the league believe Watson could still end up starting when the 2026 season begins.

“There are people out there who believe that Deshaun Watson is gonna be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on opening day,” Schefter said. Watson’s time in Cleveland has been filled with downs since the Browns made the blockbuster trade to acquire him and later signed him to a massive guaranteed contract. Injuries and inconsistent play have prevented the former star from performing at the level the team expected when it made the investment.
