This would be a great trade for Boston.

The Boston Red Sox should look to upgrade their infield later this season, and one analyst believes Isaac Paredes may become a trade target if it makes sense for both sides.
According to Mike Axisa of CBS Sports, Paredes could emerge as a realistic option if the Houston Astros decide to deal him. Paredes has been in trade talks throughout the past few months. โGive the Astros a truth serum and I'm certain they would tell you they prefer to move Christian Walker and shift Paredes over to first base, though that seems unlikely,โ Axisa wrote.
โWalker turns 35 later this month, last year was his worst season since becoming a regular, and he's owed $20 million in both 2026 and 2027. " Christian Walkerโs contract situation and recent performance will likely complicate that scenario. The veteran first baseman is entering his mid-30s and was horrible a season ago.
Because of that, Paredes has become a name in trade speculation this past winter. The third baseman can really swing it and would be a nice addition in Boston. โThe 27-year-old is under control through 2027 and can play either infield corner, though his extreme pull approach plays better in some parks than others.
