Is there enough room in Boston for the two of them?

Boston Red Sox slugger already drawing trade buzz due to Roman Anthony reason originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . Depending on how the season goes over the next few months, the Seattle Mariners may be a team to watch if the Boston Red Sox decide to move on from outfielder Wilyer Abreu.

Abreu has been named a possible trade candidate, according to Mike Axisa of CBS Sports, and he believes the Mariners would be a fit. Bostonโ€™s surplus of young outfielders has created a scenario in which its front office might eventually need to deal one of its left-handed hitters to balance the lineup. "At some point, the Red Sox will move one of their lefty hitting outfielders, right?

Roman Anthony isn't going anywhere and Masataka Yoshida's contract will be difficult to move, leaving Wilyer Abreu and Jarren Duran as the obvious trade candidates. Duran has three more years of control, Abreu four. Boston could trade Abreu or Duran and move forward with the other plus Anthony and Ceddanne Rafaela in the outfield, with Kristian โ€œCampbell possibly factoring in as well.

There's nothing wrong with having too many good outfielders. It does feel like there is a move to be made here though, something that creates a more balanced Red Sox roster and unclogs the outfield logjam," he wrote. As he touched on, someone like Jarren Duran could also be available eventually.
