Tatum Smashes Wizards with Explosive CBR 108-95!
Queta had the best scoring half of his NBA career vs. Washington.
Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta had the best scoring half of his NBA career vs. the Washington Wizards in the Celtics' 111-100 win at TD Garden this past Saturday (March 14) night on. The Wizards adjusted at halftime to prevent anything like the 83 points Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo hung on them earlier in the week, which caught the attention of star teammate Jayson Tatum.
"It was taking what the defense gives you," said the St. Louis native of how Boston responded in kind. "Neemi (Queta) played exceptionally that first half, and it was evident that they were going to focus on the ball handlers not shooters," he added.
"And Neemias getting behind the defense and getting offensive rebounds and present himself, they had to make adjustments, and we just played off of that. โ "I feel like everything was just available today," said Queta of the tilt vs. Washington.
"They were hooked up in the perimeter with the gravity of Jayson (Tatum) and Jaylen (Brown), Payton (Pritchard) as well, too. You've got a lot of dogs on the team, so a lot of different coverages that can come pretty fast. " Queta's pick-and-roll with Tatum stood out in the first half as a driver of that offensive outburst, and the Portuguese center acknowledged the growth of that dynamic.
