Michigan Tech Cyclists Secure European Title With Victory
The Lakers had a plethora of local talent earn All-American honors at the NCAA Division II indoor championships.
The Grand Valley State men's track and field team finished runner-up at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on Saturday, March 14, in Virginia Beach. The GVSU women were sixth overall. Pittsburg State won both titles.
There were several Holland-area athletes to earn All-American honors. GVSU's Shelby Ulven (Zeeland East) finished fifth in the women's weight throw (19. 83 meters, 65-0 3/4) to finish fifth and earn All-American honors.
Paige Westra (Zeeland East) also earned All-American honors, taking seventh in the shot put (15. 52, 50-11). GVSU's Alaina Diaz (Hudsonville) took sixth in the long jump (6.
