A New York Giants free agency rumor from an NFL insider could lead to the signing of a free agent from the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, or Cleveland Browns.

Giants free agency rumor could lead to signing of Packers, Chargers or Browns free agents originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . The New York Giants have been incredibly active in NFL free agency this offseason, but it sounds like the team could make a few more moves.

According to Jason La Canfora of SportsBoom , rival executives believe the Giants will add a veteran guard through free agency and also look to bolster the secondary. "They [The Giants] are expected to continue fortifying the offensive line in free agency and the draft. Rival execs would be shocked if they donโ€™t add a veteran guard, and the team will focus on the secondary as well, an area of expertise for Wilson," La Canfora said.

New York has a glaring need at right guard with Greg Van Roten no longer on the roster. Luckily for the Giants, there are still a few starting-caliber guards on the free agency market, including Mekhi Becton and Wyatt Teller. Becton was cut by the Chargers after a rough 2025 season , but the 26-year-old could be in for a bounce-back year with a change of scenery.

Becton was a key piece to the Philadelphia Eagles ' offensive line in 2024, and would be a cheap right guard option for New York at this stage in free agency. Teller is also still on the market with 101 games of starting experience at right guard. Cleveland decided to let the veteran walk in free agency , but he's still a solid starter who has allowed just five sacks over the last two seasons.
