He started it by joining Bayern Munich’s first team for pre-season, getting a few appearances and signing a new contract to remain at the Bavarians for the long term.
He then followed this up by making his Bundesliga and Champions League debut, in total making five competitive appearances for Die Rekordmeister . That’s great, right? But the rest of the season has been full of struggles.
In his appearances with the U-19s, the 17-year-old has struggled to make any sort of impact. With more responsibilities handed over to the very talented youngster (such as taking some corners and adding more playmaking duties to his game), he has struggled and been one of the more underwhelming players with the U-19s season. Still, given Mike’s talent, there were hopes he could put in a run of form to end the season.
Not anymore. According to Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau , the former Borussia Mönchengladbach player will miss the rest of the season (and perhaps even more than that) to injury: Very bitter news for Bayern talent Wisdom Mike: The 17-year-old forward has suffered a serious tendon injury in his hip and will miss at least the rest of the season! Mike is scheduled for surgery soon and will then, according to the initial assessment, have to sit out 3 to 4 months.
