While Wisconsin did ultimately lose by three in a tough contest to the Wolverines, it was a highly successful last two weeks for them, as they went on a nice five-game winning streak and secured a pair of Quad 1A wins to bolster their resume.

In that stretch, they beat the Maryland Terrapins, Purdue Boilermakers, Washington Huskies (2x), and the Illinois Fighting Illini before falling just short to Michigan. So, they should expect to hear some good news on Selection Sunday with their seeding (likely to be a No. 5 seed).

In other news, because Wisconsin saw Michigan and Illinois again in the Big Ten Tournament, they are not expected to be on the side of the bracket of either of those two teams. But Sunday’s Selection will be crucial, as the No. 5 seed tentatively lines up with the No.

1 seed of a region in the Sweet Sixteen should both teams make it there, making the draw very important. As we’ve seen in previous years, matchups are everything in the NCAA Tournament. Last year, we saw the Badgers run into a rough matchup with the BYU Cougars, prompting their season to end in the Round of 32 with a 91-89 loss.
