Newer Twist: Seahawks Land Top-Prospect Wideout as Major Trade Boosts Their Passing Game
Free agent wide receiver Darnell Mooney has signed a one-year deal to join the New York Giants . The deal for Mooney is worth up to $10 million, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Saturday. Mooney could prove to be a valuable asset for the Giants alongside other wide receivers Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton.
Nabers is recovering from offseason ACL surgery and a meniscus repair. Nabers will reportedly be ready for camp this summer, but the team has also signed Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin as well. The Giants' leading receiver, Wan'Dale Robinson, has signed a deal to join the Tennessee Titans.
The Giants were rumored to have had interest in signing Darnell Mooney before he signed with the Atlanta Falcons two seasons ago. Mooney's first year with the Falcons was the best year of his career thus far, but the 2025 season saw injuries pile up, and Mooney only caught 32 passes for 443 yards and a single touchdown. New York is rumored to go after a high-profile wide receiver in this year's NFL Draft if they choose not to go defense first.
They own the fifth pick overall for 2026. This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Giants add free agent WR on a one-year deal
