Jermod McCoy ACL

The NFL combine usually produces medical news that can affect the draft stock of a player. Jermod McCoy's medical issue occurred in January 2025 with an ACL tear. The combine raised a red flag not because of the medical evaluation, but because of a lack of a workout.

What does this mean for his outlook, and might it affect the Lions draft? Here is my excerpt on Jermod McCoy from my NFL combine medical red flags article which also includes Derrick Moore, Caleb Downs, Oscar Delp, and Ahmaad Moses. Jermod McCoy, CB (21) - no combine workout post ACL Projected round 1 Pre-combine concern level 4/10.

Post-combine 5/10. McCoy suffered an ACL tear in January 2025 which prevented him from playing during the 2025 season. While itโ€™s possible he could have returned in November or December for a couple games, his lack of action wasnโ€™t a big concern.

Whatโ€™s really concerning is that he did not work out at the combine which was 13 months post-injury. With a typical ACL recovery, he should be ready to not just work out, but play in an NFL game at that point. Is he hiding something?
