The Washington Commanders have added some quality free agents, but they have also missed on some of their key targets so far.

Free agency kicked off last week, and it didn't take long for many of the big names to find new landing spots. The Washington Commanders had plenty of money to spend, and they have indeed spent a big chunk already. The team made some solid additions like edge-rusher Odafe Oweh, linebacker Leo Chenal, tight end Chig Okonkwo, and running back Rachaad White , among others.

The team definitely has gotten younger and faster on defense, but the offense hasn't had any big-time additions to this point. As a result, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports gave the team a mixed review in his latest piece analyzing each team's free agency. Pereles gave the Commanders a B+ overall, but dinged the team for swinging and missing on wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Alec Pierce.

Doubs went to the New England Patriots while Pierce opted to remain with the Indianapolis Colts. Pereles offered the following analysis: On one hand, the Commanders ' efforts to upgrade Jayden Daniels ' weaponry has not borne fruit yet. They were in the running for both Pierce and Doubs and failed to sign either.

That's caused some consternation. On the other hand, Oweh made great strides with the Chargers last year, and he very much fits the "younger and faster" agenda. Chenal is a sorely needed addition at linebacker.
