Wisconsin Wide Receiver Lights Up Tryouts, Sees First Choice of the Season!
The Wisconsin Badgers have their eyes on an in-state player who isn't set to graduate high school until 2029. Nicholas Payne Jr. is a class of 2029 wide receiver from Racine, Wisconsin.
Don't let his age fool you as he runs a 4. 56-second 40-yard dash and has a 40-inch vertical. Payne took to social media on March 13 to reveal he has an upcoming visit with the Badgers .
He currently stands 5-foot-11, 160 pounds, though a lot can change from now until he could eventually be the next Badgers wideout. Depending on how things turn out these next few years, Wisconsin could use him as a defensive back. Gerald Bester, the defensive line coach at Racine Case High School, lists him as both a WR and a DB.
No dates for the visit were revealed, though Wisconsin is far from the only team interested. A day prior, Indiana had extended an unofficial invite to the 14-year old as it's clear he's going to be the talk of the town throughout these next few years. Good morning & thanks to @mkopay30 and the badgers staff for the invite this spring.
