Watchung Hills’ Gabriela Giacone and Hunterdon Central’s Emma Peake each reached a state wrestling final as 20 area girls earned a medal.

ATLANTIC CITY – They wrestled on mats in Brazil and North Dakota and Greece in the offseason. Their objective – get better and make a run at the state tournament. Both Watchung Hills’ Gabriela Giacone and Hunterdon Central’s Emma Peake did just that and their ascent took them all the way to the state championship bout against game opponents on Saturday, March 14.
