The Eagles have not lost much to the Giants on the field in recent years, but they just were defeated by New York in free agency. Philadelphia had interest in former Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney, but he instead signed a one-year contract with the Giants, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Mooney could serve as New York’s No.
2 wide receiver next season across from Malik Nabers. The Giants lost Wan’Dale Robinson to the Titans in free agency and needed to find a solid replacement. Mooney is a cheaper option with tremendous upside.
He racked up 1,055 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2021 with the Bears and 992 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2024 with the Falcons. Mooney would have served as Philadelphia’s No. 2 or No.
3 wide receiver in 2026 depending on if the team trades A. J. Brown this offseason.
