New Headline: Jackson's Move Could Double Baltimore's Hard-Worked Victories
The Minnesota Vikings could be in play to add New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara through a trade.
The Minnesota Vikings are bringing 31-year-old Aaron Jones back in 2026. But could they look to add another running back from the Class of 2017 to their room? Adam Schefter reported this week that the New Orleans Saints could be looking to trade Alvin Kamara, who has spent his entire nine-year career with the team.
"There now are questions around the league about whether RB Alvin Kamara will be moving on from New Orleans and whether the Saints would be willing trade him," Schefter tweeted Tuesday. "Teams are tracking and wondering about it. " The Vikings were interested in signing Travis Etienne before he signed with the Saints.
Alex Kay of Bleacher Report believed Minnesota could be in play for Kamara after that news. With four picks in the final three rounds of the upcoming draft, the Vikings can afford to kick one over to New Orleans in exchange for a back who will plug one of their biggest holes and potentially contribute to a bounce-back campaign in the Twin Cities. To be fair, Kay wrote this before the Vikings announced they were bringing Jones back.
At this point, it feels unlikely the team would trade draft capital for a running back who is 31, and Minnesota already has Jordan Mason, too. That doesn't mean the Vikings won't add a running back between now and the season. But it feels like something that won't happen until the draft, when they can select a younger, cheaper option to supplement their veteran room.
