Barça come into this one looking for a fourth consecutive win in the league to restore their four-point advantage at the top of the table after Real Madrid’s win on Saturday. The Catalans will be favorites at home where they’ve won every single game since returning to Camp Nou in all competitions, but there are multiple reasons why a victory is anything but a guarantee on Sunday. First, Barça are in the middle of a very tight and undecided European tie with a visibly tired squad and Hansi Flick is expected to make changes, and the league games in between Champions League knockout matches are always tricky because of the rotations alone.

So expecting a great performance in this circumstances is not realistic, and Barça will have to find a way to grind out a result. Second, Sevilla are the authors of Barça’s worst league loss of the season, a 4-1 destruction in Seville back in October in which the Blaugrana were overwhelmed in every single aspect of the game and should have conceded anywhere between six and nine goals that afternoon. It was legitimately that bad, and Sevilla will arrive at Camp Nou with confidence that they have the formula to exploit Barça’s high line and shock the Catalans again.
