Ludvig Aberg holds a three-shot lead heading into the final round of the Players, showing resilience at TPC Sawgrass.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Ludvig Aberg doesn’t shy away from thinking about winning. “I think a lot about what it would look like, what it would feel like.

I think a lot about the different scenarios that might happen, and I did that in college, I did that when I turned pro and I still do it,” he said. “So I think I'm trying to embrace it. I'm trying to be OK with all those things that comes with it, which is why we play golf.

We spend so much time practicing, playing, training, preparing, so why wouldn't we think of what it would actually mean to win. So naturally that's what I'm going to do tonight. ” One day after he torched the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass to the tune of 9-under 63 , Aberg carded 1-under 71 on Saturday and opened a three-shot lead over Michael Thorbjornsen heading into the final round of the 2026 Players Championship .

“I didn't play amazing but I got a little bit out of it, at least, which was nice,” Aberg said. It would have been hard for Aberg, 26, to duplicate his scintillating performance on Friday when he was 5 under on the first four holes. On Moving Day, Aberg was stuck in neutral on the front nine, dropping a stroke at the fourth hole and failing to make a birdie until the par-5 ninth.
