Kershaw's MLB career ends as Dodgers crown reigning champion.
Clayton Kershaw is no longer on the Team USA WBC roster?
Team USA removed longtime MLB pitcher Clayton Kershaw from the roster for pitcher Jeff Hoffman on Saturday, officially closing out the former's professional baseball career. Team USA manager Mark DeRosa explained on Friday ahead of the team's World Baseball Classic quarterfinals win over Canada that it was possible that Kershaw wouldn't play in the game. "I would love to get Clayton a little run, but it's win or go home," DeRosa told reporters on Friday, per Sports Illustrated .
"We'll see. I've got 10 relievers in there that are rearing to go. So I think that would be a long shot, but we'll see.
" The move seems to be for competitive advantage as the U. S. advances to the semifinals.
It's all good for Kershaw, who got to enjoy a bullpen beer during Friday's game . Is Kershaw's career really over? Yes, this is it for the longtime pitcher.
