Here are the final-round pairings for Sunday at the Players Championship, where Ludvig Aberg leads Michael Thorbjornsen by three shots
PONTE VEDRA BEACH — The week started with 123 players—47 of the top 50 players in the world—competing at TPC Sawgrass and now, after three days, 73 men will play the final round of the Players Championship with only a handful remaining with a chance to win. A year ago, it was Rory McIlroy picking up his second Players title with a Monday playoff win over J. J.
Spaun. He, along with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler both made the cut but are well off the pace.
Scheffler shot 67 on Saturday and is tied for 26th place. McIlroy shot 72 and is tied for 57th. They're all chasing Ludvig Aberg, the 26-year-old Swede who bogeyed the final hole Saturday to shoot 71 but still holds a three-shot lead over Michael Thorbjornsen.
Cameron Young made double bogey on the final hole and is four shots back. Six players, including Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele are tied for fourth place. "I think anything that wasn't like yesterday was going to be a slower start," Aberg said.
