The Lady Tigers sued their pressure defense to build a double-digit halftime lead and go on to a 48-35 victory in the PIAA Class 2A girls basketball quarterfinals Friday at The Den at Wilkes-Barre Area High School. Olivia Jones led the District 4 runner-up with 21 points. Rosie Martino added 15 points and four steals and Kailee Helwig had six steals as Southern Columbia (15-13) advances to Monday’s semifinals against Berlin Brothersvalley.

The defending state champions from District 1 beat Wyoming Seminary in its quarterfinal, 53-31. In the final game of her high school career, senior Addison Kilmer collected 14 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks to lead District 2 champ Mountain View (21-7). Aubrey Sanders chipped in with 12 points.
