Wisconsin’s Elite Team Crushes Big Ten Champions!
The No. 1 seed in the B1G needed a buzzer beater to take down the Wisconsin Badgers, 68-65.
Michigan, the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten, needed a buzzer-beater to take down the Wisconsin Badgers , 68-65, on Saturday. Remember, Wisconsin was the only team in the conference that had beaten Michigan in the regular season.
The Badgers had a scoring drought north of three minutes down the stretch, one that ended up costing them big time. Despite Austin Rapp making five straight three-pointers, Michigan drilled a three-pointer with 0. 4 seconds remaining that sent the Badgers packing .
All 18 of Rapp's points came in the second half, a half that saw Wisconsin go on a massive run. When they needed points the most, they came up short. Nick Boyd drilled a three-pointer with under 30 seconds remaining to tie the game at 65.
Michigan opted not to use a timeout and instead relied on the Big Ten Player of the Year to knock down a three-pointer that ended the Badgers' hopes of advancing to the conference championship game. Wisconsin will now have March 15 off as they await their seed in the NCAA Tournament.
