On Saturday, ESPNโs Shams Charania stated that a 6-foot-11 former Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat center has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Dubs. โThe Golden State Warriors are signing former Heat and Jazz center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract,โ Charania wrote on X/Twitter. โYurtseven spent the season in the Euroleague before joining the G League last week, posting 36 points and 12 rebounds Friday night.
โ After spending the final season of his collegiate career at Georgetown and failing to convince a franchise to draft him in the first or second round of the NBA Draft, Yurtseven signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Thunder. The Tashkent, Uzbekistan native never appeared in a game with Oklahoma City, though, getting waived before he received a chance to get his feet wet. In 2021, Yurtseven inked a deal with the Heat and was given a legitimate opportunity to contribute.
The 27-year-old averaged 9. 7 points and 3. 9 rebounds with the Heat in two seasons and reached the NBA Finals with the storied Eastern Conference organization in 2023.
