Saints Secure Division Lead in Thrilling Match
The New Orleans Saints are seen as one of the most likely teams to go from last to first in their division across the entire league by PFSN.
2026 seems to be priming the New Orleans Saints to be a rather competitive team compared to previous years, with the roster taking shape as a seemingly impressive one as the first few days of free agency wind down. The offense has certainly improved, the defense is still a work in progress, but is getting closer, and special teams has even improved with a new punter addition. Now it all comes down to how the team rounds out the roster with their remaining cap space, and where they are able to utilize their draft picks.
With needs at wide receiver, defensive end, defensive tackle, cornerback, and potentially linebacker, there is still room to grow, but there are fewer needs than there were this time last offseason, which shows improvement. This is shown as well by the PFSN NFL Playoff Predictor, which analyzes data and produces an outcome for each NFL matchup for the 2026 season, all the way through to the Super Bowl. Recently, they put out a graphic indicating which teams were most likely to go last-to-first in their respective division based on this model.
At the top is the Detroit Lions, with 31. 2% of their models having them take the division back. Next up, though, was New Orleans, sitting at a respectable 23.
