The milestone is a notable one in Chicago, given how rarely any Bull has been mentioned ahead of Jordan in a major statistical category. This time, though, the latest all-around display pushed one current Bulls player beyond the franchise icon on the league’s career triple-double leaderboard.

That is an impressive mark for the Bulls guard given he is still only in the early stages of his NBA career. Jordan remains the most iconic player in franchise history, so any statistical category where a Chicago player moves beyond him is always going to draw attention.

Giddey’s rise on the triple-double list has been driven by the all-around style that has defined his game since entering the league, with his size, rebounding and passing regularly allowing him to stuff the box score. The fact he has already reached 29 career triple-doubles also underlines why Chicago committed major money to him. Josh Giddey’s triple-double in Bulls’ loss to the Clippers adds to record push Giddey’s latest triple-double came in the Bulls’ 119-108 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, when he finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in 39 minutes at Intuit Dome.

Even in defeat, it was another reminder of how much responsibility he now carries for Chicago as both a creator and rebounder from the backcourt. Chicago did not get the result it wanted against the Clippers, but Giddey still gave the team another high-level all-around game while continuing to climb one of the NBA’s most respected statistical ladders. For a franchise so closely tied to Jordan’s legacy, that is not a small achievement.
