Denver's Pro Bowler Makes Game-Changing Announcement!
The Broncos select a massive defensive lineman in this 2026 NFL mock draft.
In his latest 2026 NFL mock draft for The Athletic , Nick Baumgardner projects the Denver Broncos will add a defensive lineman following the departure of John Franklin-Myers during NFL free agency. Baumgardner's mock draft has Denver selecting Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald with the 30th overall pick in the first round. "McDonald’s evaluation right now is a bit like that of former Buckeye Tyleik Williams’ last year at this time," Baumgardner wrote for The Athletic .
"McDonald’s run-block destruction was outstanding last season, as was his effort out of his area. He may never be an elite pass rusher, but his value against the run will make up for it. " McDonald (6-2, 326 pounds) totaled 65 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 14 games with the Buckeyes last fall, earning unanimous All-American recognition following the season.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the Broncos add more depth and competition on the line after losing JFM. After receiving two compensatory picks earlier this week, Denver now holds nine selections in the 2026 NFL draft, which will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
