As rosters continue to add new players in NFL free agency, former Browns running back Jerome Ford lands with the Commanders

After four seasons with the Cleveland Browns , running back Jerome Ford is off to greener pastures in NFL free agency . The former fifth round pick of the Browns in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Cincinnati has inked a one-year deal to head to Washington, D. C.

and suit up for the Washington Commanders . The financial details of his new contract with the Commanders have not been released yet. During his time in Cleveland, Ford totaled 1,463 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.

He caught an additional 107 passes out of the backfield for 647 yards and five touchdowns. His career-highs came in 2023, a year where Ford replaced an injured Nick Chubb and racked up over 1,000 total yards and nine touchdowns. The #Commanders have agreed to terms with former #Browns RB Jerome Ford, per me and @MikeGarafolo , giving him a 1-year deal.
